WILTSHIRE
I’m Rebecca and I’m really excited to be the Drama Matters Bridge Builder for Wiltshire. I have always been engrossed in Performing Arts from a young age; there wasn’t a time when I wasn’t trying to sing and act my way into something!
My love of Drama continued through into my own education studying Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London. The course itself opened my eyes to all the weird, wonderful and varied styles and practitioners and made my love for all things rather non-conventional really come through. After a few years out working after university (including creating Drama workshops for children aged 4-14; getting a random qualification in ‘Play’ and working in Palliative care and a hospice, including using Drama with day patients) I decided to jump into teaching and received my PGCE in Secondary Drama in 2016.
Fast forward to my seventh year of teaching and a HoD for five of those, I work in an all-girls school with an attached primary school and so get the pleasure of creating schemes of work, shows and workshops from Key Stage 1 up to my BTEC students in Sixth Form and adore to make links with my local community that I grew up in.
I can’t wait to connect with other educators and facilitators, having met so many wonderful creators at the last Drama Matters weekend and support in any way I can!
