MILTON KEYNES

I am extremely passionate about drama education; I believe all young people should have access to strong, quality Dramatic Arts education to equip them with the personal proficiencies needed to excel in a world where “Soft Power” is the differentiator. I am a freelancing acting & performance specialist and take on board teaching, directing, LAMDA and devising projects mainly revolving around the KS3-5 and young adult age group.

I boast a 100% student success rate for LAMDA & Trinity examinations and I am proud to say I am also an examiner for LAMDA. Over the last 20 years I have taught in Primary, Secondary and Higher education institutions, nationally and internationally, covering various syllabi from examination bodies.

Along with holding the post of Principal at an award-winning theatre school for 10 years, I have written and directed numerous plays and musical theatre productions for schools, TiE companies, theatres and have been published by Trinity College, London. I have also had students invited to represent South Africa by performing at the Commonwealth Games and was the first youth Shakespeare group invited to perform at the National Arts Festival.

In 2017, I opened a theatre that was dedicated to showcasing work devised by young people and was contracted by the South African Department of Education to write Drama, Music and Dance lesson plans for ages 6 to 16; this collection of lesson plans was published and distributed to state schools.

I believe committing to, and attending, drama training instils empathy, kindness and courtesy, as well as reinforcing communication and performance skills in a safe space. My desire is to make sure every student I work with feels safe, heard and empowered to chase their dreams on or off the stage.
